Visitor Center: General Information
Dedication of the San Angelo Visitor Center was held on Thursday, March 4, 2004, at 2 pm. In addition to new offices for the San Angelo Health Foundation, the Chamber of Commerce and the Convention & Visitors Bureau, the 11,450 square foot structure provides a rest area and information point for travelers, a scenic spot overlooking the Concho River, access to San Angelo's River Walk and pedestrian pathways to the Historic City Center, Fort Concho and other public facilities. Lead architect Craig Kinney employed native Texas materials - stone, glass, copper and various woods - throughout the imposing building, which is located off of Avenue B on the Concho River and between the Bryant Boulevards in downtown San Angelo.
